Carpentry is the original Chapdelaine trade. I design, install and build custom cabinets, bookcases, fireplace mantels and more.

Shop space and tool rental

The Woodshop Co-Op is about learning, sharing knowledge, and access to tools and space. Many people want to learn, want to create, but they don’t have the space or access to the tools….now you do!

Teaching

I’ve studied the skills of woodcraft for years and have built a shop where just about anything can be designed and built. Join us, learn, build, and grow.

learn the different types of wood and when to use them

Work with walnut, cherry, maple, and exotics. Learn when its best to use plywood, or an inexpensive hardwood for special applications.

Specialty joinery work

From dovetails to mortise and tenons, old work carpenters created many types of ways of joining wood before the nail or screw was common. These old ways of joining wood are still relevant today and will make your work stand out from the rest and show your craftsmanship.

Staining and finishing

Staining and sealing wood is part science, part art. Learn the many ways of finishing wood from old world stains like garnet shellac and oils like Tung and Teak oils to the modern polymers and gel coats.
